9 Songs To Get Your Energy Right This Week

It’s Monday, and if you’re like us you need a nice selection of songs to start your week off with style and panache. Here are 9 tracks we’re bumping, from a variety of genres and in no particular order, guaranteed to get you moving and grooving.

1. “Whole Lotta Action,” Young Dant x Benny

Straight out of Vallejo, California, Young Dant and Benny deliver one of the most infectious songs we’ve heard in a long time. With a classic 80’s dance sample as its base, there’s no way you can hear this and not want to hit an icy ass two-step one time. Shouts to these two, they definitely have a promising future.

2. “Itz Dat,” MobSquad Nard feat. Boosie Badazz

Jacksonville, Florida native and Cinematic Music Group signee MobSquad Nard links up with one of his idols, Boosie Badazz, for a street anthem of epic proportions. Listening to this track gave us a lot of old school Boosie/Cash Money/No Limit vibes, with this being one of the best featured verses from Boosie I’ve heard in a while. A collaborative project between these two definitely wouldn’t be a bad idea.

3. “Try Sumthin,” OMB Peezy feat. Yhung T.O

Mobile, Alabama-born and Sik Wid It Records signee OMB Peezy has been garnering quite a buzz this year — his flow is sick, bars are completely street and real, and he picks some of the dopest artists to collaborate with. And for the Bay Area-tinged “Try Sumthin,” it only made sense to grab up Yhung T.O from SOB X RBE, who’s a star in his own right.

4. “Rude,” Lil Skies

Lil Skies might be a new name for most of you, but don’t disregard — this Chambersburg, PA native is tight as hell. With everybody complaining about the new wave of  “mumble rappers,” it’s refreshing to see an artist who’s rapping clearly but still repping for the youth, right? He’s kind of a perfect mix between Playboi Carti, Rich The Kid and Famous Dex — check Skies out and get in tune.

5.  “Can’t Trust Shit,” Ron$oCold

How many of you felt like this before? “Can’t Trust Shit” is relatable, and that’s just one reason why Ron$oCold is going to be a star in the future (while you’re at it, check his latest single “New Hunnits“). Also, shouts to anyone whoever turned their AirBnB into a trap house.

6. “Lost My Mind,” Lil Wop

Famous Dex’s cousin, Lil Wop, makes no bones about being heavily inspired by Gucci Mane — and “Lost My Mind” is a great example. From the bars to the flow and ad-libs, the Atlanta rapper lives up to his name and still manages to steer clear from sounding like a Guwop clone. I’d love to see him meet and collaborate with Gucci down the line — and who knows? He might even sign to 1017 someday.

7. “A Lie,” French Montana feat. The Weeknd and Max B

First of all, I want to thank French Montana for keeping Max B’s name relevant for all these years while he’s been incarcerated. Here, he teams up with Abel, turning a common Jamaican/Canadian slang term into a sure-shot banger. While The Weeknd is hands down one of the biggest pop stars right now, it’s always a treat to hear him get grimy and greasy on rap records like “A Lie.” The track comes off French’s new release, Jungle Rules, which is packed with other gems like “Jump,” featuring Travis Scott.

8. “U GOT ME,” Blossom and HOT16

It wouldn’t be right if we didn’t give you something to offset all the hardcore trap rap. Portland R&B singer Blossom linked up with producer HOT16 to provide, “U Got Me,” a sweet and sultry R&B jam. Their forthcoming project, Tease, is slated for a July 21st release and is sure to deliver more sexy tunes. If you want to hear more, check out their song “So Cool.”

9. “PERSONA,” KOSSISKO

If you’re music nerds like us, you might remember KOSSISKO from his days a pimp-inspired rapper, 100s. While his days as 100s are over, he’s providing some of the sexiest goth rock-tinged dark pop and R&B ever under his new moniker. We’re all excited to see what KOSSISKO has up his sleeve —  with “PERSONA” being the first release off of his forthcoming MALDOROR 1 EP, he’s slated to release a total of three projects.
