Goyard: The Old French Luxury Brand Turned Hip-Hop Obsession

Everyone should be able to spot a Goyard bag when they see it — that vibrant luxurious leather good with all-over interlocked logo print. That bag is a status symbol nowadays. Back in 2006, Kanye West and Pharrell were the first to champion the French designer. Now, A$AP Mob, Famous Dex, Rich The Kid and many other Hip-Hop figures are rockin’ the brand heavily. The new trend and infatuation surfaced out of nowhere, even resulting in unauthorized custom pieces and bootlegs being made — much to the chagrin of brand officials at Goyard.

Our writer homie David Turner recently broke down the phenomenon in great detail for Esquire. Check it out here.
